This recycling center is open to anyone to use.

Recycling Center Information
Where is the Center?
You can find the COSLC Recycling Center on the south side of our main parking lot in a grey and blue shed. Please be sure to close and latch the doors completely once you’re done!
What do we Recycle?
- Glass (Accepted ONLY in the round blue bin on the right side of the shed. Glass is not accepted in the green recycling bins with lids.)
- Metals:
- Aluminum cans (rinsed)
- Steel/tin cans (rinsed)
- Papers:
- Cardboard (including pizza boxes!)
- Mixed paper
- Cereal boxes
- Junk mail
- Office paper
- Magazines
- Toilet paper and paper towel tubes
- Newspaper
- Plastics:
- Plastic bottles #1 PETE
- Plastic bottles #2 HDPE
- Plastic bags are accepted in a separate bag by the glass recycling bin. (They are NOT accepted in the green, city-provided recycling bins with lids.) Plastic bags are taken to the Lutheran Social Services of Alaska food pantry for them to use.
What do we NOT recycle?
- Aluminum foil
- Food scraps – no compost
- Grass clippings
- Auto batteries
- Cooling oil
- CFL bulbs – (light bulbs)
- Electronics
- Scrap metal
- Used oil
- #1 Plastic "Clam Shells"
- Paper cups, plates, napkins, and paper towels
